Big Willie’s Old Time Cookin’–Coming Back!

It’s been about six years since Indio resident Willie Lynch closed his barbecue restaurant on Requa Avenue to focus more on the catering side of his business.

On Tuesday though, he’s back in the restaurant game with the opening of Big Willie’s Old Time Cookin’ at 82-720 Miles Ave.

Restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Lynch said he plans to be open on Saturday and Sunday also, but is still trying to figure out those hours.

His restaurant boasts a six-page menu that includes among dozens of selections: barbecued ribs, seafood, steak, sandwiches, chicken fried steak, red beans and rice, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes, and beer and wine.

He will also serve up his well-known and hearty pulled pork sandwiches that have become a staple of his stand at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach for the past few years.

Lunch prices range from $5.95 to $9.95.

Dinner prices range from $9.95 to $26.95.
