Judy Furst, a teaching pro at Tradition Golf Club in La Quinta, has been named to Golf Digest’s inaugural list of the top 50 women teaching pros in the country.

Furst has been honored for her teaching before, being named the 2007 LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Western Section Teacher of the Year.

The Golf Digest list was compiled from ballots sent to more than 1,100 female PGA of America members and LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals. The list produced has teachers with a combined 1,329 years of teaching experience in 21 states.

In honoring Furst, the magazine pointed out that she runs a weekly women’s clinic but otherwise puts no gender or age limitations on her teaching. She places great emphasis on course management, setup, balance and posture.
