Bob Hope Home for Sale!

Bob Hope Home Listed for Sale in Palm Springs

Do you want to own the most iconic home in PALM SPRINGS?Bob Hope Home

Bob and Dolores Hope’s iconic mushroom-shaped home is now on the market for a rumored “45 Million”.  According to real estate agent David Mossler, the estate is listed through Partners Trust out of Beverly Hills.

The two-story, 22,000 square-foot steel, concrete and glass structure, perched atop the mountains on Southridge Drive, has just hit the market for the first time.

The “spaceship” looking house, with its mushroom-shaped roof, was originally designed by John Lautner in 1973 and built in 1979. It is said to have cost the Hopes $2 million to build the home.

It has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Incorporating the natural surroundings into the home, a huge bolder juts out of the floor of the living room. There are also 3 golf holes behind the home that Bob had built for practice.

Lautner is also the designer of the Elrod House that sits directly below the Hope Home.

“The Hopes liked Arthur Elrod’s house so much they built a larger version,” Hal Broderick, Elrod’s longtime business partner said.

Although the home may soon have a new owner, the legacy of Bob and Dolores Hope continues across the Coachella Valley. The Hopes first moved to the desert in the early 1940s. They are among the most influential couples associated with the Coachella Valley, a list that includes Frank and Barbara Sinatra, President Gerald and Betty Ford and Walter and Leonore Annenberg.

Bob Hope died at age 100 in 2003 and his wife was 102 years old when she died last year.
